LES WITTON DARTFORD 10 ROAD RACE

Sunday 22nd January 2012 sees the 11th Running of the Les Witton Dartford 10 road race. The race starts at 09:30 from Princes Park Stadium, Off Darenth Road and runners should aim to arrive before 09:00.

There will be parking at the stadium but please car share where possible as parking is not unlimited. Toilets, showers and refreshments are also available at the stadium. There are three water stations on the route and our race last year was commended for good organisation and friendly marshals all along the route.

The race cost is £14 affiliated, £16 unaffiliated. Entries on the Day £3 extra. Online entry carries a charge of £1.50. Chip Timing is provided by IEK. There are individual and team prizes. All advance entrants receive a £5 Sweatshop voucher. All finishers receive a medal and a race gift. There is a £100 cash prize for male and female winners.

Race permit applied for with the Association of Running Clubs (ARC). English Athletics and ARC affiliated runners are accepted as affiliated.

LES WITTON DARTFORD 10: RE-ARRANGED 25TH MARCH

Dear Runner

Re-arrangement of Les Witton Dartford 10, Sunday 25th March 2012

We have managed to secure a re-arrangement date for the Les Witton Dartford 10. This event will now take place on Sunday 25th March. We ran a successful race on a re-arranged date last year, and we are sure this year will be no different.

If you are able to run on the 25th March, then you are automatically entered for the new date. Nothing has changed except the date. You will receive a further communication early March with race day arrangements.

We are not carrying any entries forward to 2013.

Sincere thanks for your continuing support for this event. We are determined to keep this event alive moving forwards regardless of increasing regulation, costs and lack of police support on the day.

However we would like to point out, out of fairness, and because we have become aware of speculation, that although we have been unfortunate we take responsibility for this postponement. It is NOT the fault in any way of the police or highways authorities. The local highways officers are helpful and supportive. The police at a local level have their hands tied with regard to supporting races on the day, and are still helpful in an advisory capacity.
